Allocated an area of 400 acres by the Metropolitan Municipality, Antalya Zoo is located in the Kepezaltı Picnic Area in Döşemealtı district. The zoo, which started its operations in 1989, continues its activities with the mission of protecting natural life, promoting love for animals in the society, and protecting endangered species of animals.
While not the largest zoo in the country regarding the size of the area it occupies, Antalya Zoo is one of the most successful zoos in Türkiye in terms of the convenient structure of its land and the natural and healthy living standards provided for the animals.
In Antalya Zoo, which expands its species and diversity range by adding new members every year, there are a total of 100 animal shelters belonging to camels, gazelles, deer, zebras, lions, wild sheep, roe deer, dwarf goats, pony horses, wolves, pigs, tigers, tigers, pumas, brown bears, kangaroos, crocodiles, snakes, birds of prey and many other species. In the garden, which is rich in vegetation, animals roam freely under the trees and greenery and feel as if they are in their natural habitat.
