Located within the borders of Manavgat district, where the Köprüçay River and the ancient city of Selge are located, the region, which spans an area of 366,140 decares, was declared a national park in 1973. The park, which is the largest natural cypress forest in the entire Mediterranean Region, has one of the longest canyons in Turkey with a length of 14 km and a wall height of over 100 meters.
Many natural beauties increase the value of Köprülü Canyon National Park. Köprüçay, which originates from the Taurus Mountains and flows into the Mediterranean Sea from the south of Serik, is a perfect option for rafting and water sports with its high flow rate. In addition to adrenaline-pumping activities such as swimming, rock climbing, trekking, cycling, orienteering, the park offers the opportunity to be in touch with nature without limits, as well as exciting activities such as wildlife observation, camping, plateau trips, jeep safari and photography.
In Köprülü Canyon National Park, which has a very rich fauna, rare species, especially the Anatolian Nuthatch, Anatolia’s only endemic bird species, land salamander species, and the endangered Red Vulture, continue to live.
Selge Ancient City, located west of Köprüçay, attracts culture and history enthusiasts. Among the ruins of the city from the Roman Period, arches, castles, roads, bridges, baths, theater, temples, cisterns are the archaeological structures worth seeing.
You can also include Adam Rocks, which attracts attention with its interesting geomorphological features, and St. Paul’s Trail, known as the road St. Paul walked during his first missionary adventure in Anatolia. Admission to the Köprülü Canyon National Park is free of charge.
