What is Root Planing? How is It Connected to Dental Scaling?

Deep cleaning with ultrasonic instruments has similar results to manual deep cleaning with handheld instruments. Both treatments produce significant clinical results, but ultrasonic cleaning is faster, taking 20% to 50% less time than manual cleaning.
How Does Tartar Form?
Tartar primarily appears with the colourless bacterial plaque formed on the tooth surface. Bacterial plaques begin to form on average 4 to 12 hours after brushing the teeth during the day. Therefore, teeth should be brushed at least 2 times a day. The rate and intensity of bacterial formation on the tooth surface increases with ageing. Bacterial plaques are actually removed with regular oral and dental hygiene and care. However, when these are not done, plaques turn into tartar in a short time. Tartar adhering to the tooth enamel can be removed with the treatments applied by dentists. Dental scaling is the best application for this purpose.
How to Prevent Tartar (Calculus) Formation?
Tartar formation can be prevented by regular oral and dental cleaning (scaling). The tartar formation can also be prevented by brushing the teeth at least 2 times a day, using dental floss and regularly visiting oral and dental health clinics.
