First, the patient’s mouth and teeth are examined. The carious areas are cleaned. If required, local anaesthesia is administered. Then, inlay or onlay porcelain fillings are prepared in the laboratory. To do that, the gaps formed on the tooth surface are measured. Provisional filling is applied to the patients until production is finished. Then, inlay or onlay porcelain filling is applied to the patient. Inlay – onlay porcelain filling preserves the natural tooth structure and aesthetic appearance.

How Long Does the Procedure Take?

Inlay and onlay filling treatment consists of approximately 2 sessions. In the first session, the decayed tissue on the tooth is removed and provisional filling is applied to the patient’s mouth by taking the necessary dental impressions. In the next session, after the porcelain fillings prepared in the laboratory are examined, polishing is performed and the bonding process is performed on the tooth area.

Preparation Stages

The intraoral and the dental tissues are examined with the camera, and a detailed impression is taken. According to this impression, a mouth model is produced in which the treatment can be applied. Inlay or onlay filling is prepared using the mouth model. Then, fillings are bonded on the damaged area using special adhesives. These fillings are adjusted to fit exactly in the mouth using CAD-CAM production methods.
