Antalya Ethnography Museum, which consists of two mansions dating back to the 19th century in Kaleiçi, the pearl of Antalya, is located within the Kaleiçi Urban and Grade III Archaeological Site.
Having a large collection that reveals the recent history, folk culture and lifestyle of Antalya, the museum consists of two mansions, one facing the street and the other opening to the garden. Different artifacts are exhibited in each section of the museum, which is called the Lower and Upper Mansion and organized in different concepts. In the lower mansion number 1, there are mainly Turkish-Islamic Artifacts, while in the upper mansion number 2, there are items and architectural objects reflecting the domestic life of Antalya during the Ottoman Period.
On the ground floor of the lower mansion, rare pieces of tiles brought from the Aspendos Antique Theater, which was used as a palace during the Seljuk period, tiles from the Ottoman period, glass gas lamps, rose vases, tulip vases, sherbet holders and ceramics produced in Çanakkale, İznik and Kütahya in the 16th and 20th centuries are exhibited. On the upper floor of the lower mansion, objects from the Ottoman period such as arrows, bows, swords, flintlock and capsule pistols and rifles, thumb rings, oil pots, gunpowder holders, insignia, medals, seals, mole clocks, as well as examples of calligraphy of the period such as diploma and religios manuscripts are on display.
Antalya Ethnography Museum, The upper mansion, number two, is located on a higher level than the lower mansion and access to it is via the garden stairs. On the first floor of the upper mansion, there are wooden ceilings, doors, doorknockers and keys, window sashes, examples of weaving arts such as sacks, saddlebags, rugs, spindles and local musical instruments from the Ottoman Period. In addition, on the first floor, it is possible to examine the traditional Döşemealtı Carpets of the Antalya Region and the looms and original weaving samples showing how the carpets are woven. In addition to these, a small recreation of Antalya Cuisine, which reflects the kitchen arrangement during the Ottoman Period, is also located on the first floor.
The garden of the museum is also used for display purposes. In the garden, the Seljuk Bastion Inscription dating back to the 13th century and the Conquest Inscriptions of the Seljuk Period, inscriptions of the Ottoman Period, tombstones, cannons and cannonballs are exhibited.
