Antalya Smile Designs provides this guarantee to patients who have entered into a treatment contract with the clinic. It comes into effect once that contract is in place and the treatment described in it has been completed.
What it protects against is defective workmanship and defective materials in the treatments set out in Section 1. It is a guarantee on the dentistry itself, rather than on the mouth the dentistry is placed into.
That distinction matters, because no guarantee can extend to biological change, or to conditions lying outside what the clinic, its dentists, oral surgeons and dental technicians are able to control. Bone loss, receding gums, periodontal disease, ageing, systemic conditions that affect healing, complications linked to smoking, bruxism, heavy occlusal loading and the natural movement of teeth all influence how long dental work lasts, whatever the standard of care behind it.
1. Treatments covered by this guarantee
Dental Implants — Lifetime Guarantee
Cover on an implant applies to the screw itself, against fracture or breakage. Where an implant does fail due to a defect of dentistry, the clinic replaces it once at no cost. The failed implant must be returned to the clinic, as the manufacturer requires it before a replacement is issued.
Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges — 5 Year Guarantee
Crowns, implant crowns and bridges are covered for five years from the date treatment is completed, against fracture of the material, chipping, manufacturing defects, loosening and cement failure. Where a small repair is needed in the patient’s own country, such as recementation or a minor composite repair, the clinic may put up to £100 towards it. Approval must be obtained beforehand and an invoice provided.
Dental Laminate Veneers — 3 Year Guarantee
Laminate veneers are covered for three years from the date treatment is completed, on the same basis: fracture of the material, chipping, manufacturing defects and cement failure. The same arrangement applies to small repairs carried out at home, with a contribution of up to £100 against prior approval and an invoice.
Composite Bonding — 2 Year Guarantee
Composite bonding is covered for two years from the date treatment is completed, against fracture of the bonding only. Repairs are carried out solely at the clinic in Antalya, and the patient must attend the clinic in person. Work carried out in the patient’s own country is not covered, and no contribution is made towards it.
Dental Fillings — 1 Year Guarantee
Fillings are guaranteed for one year against coming away from the natural tooth. If a repair or a replacement is carried out at home, the clinic may contribute up to £30, subject to written approval in advance and an invoice.
Cosmetic and Fixed Dentures — 1 Year Guarantee
Cosmetic and fixed dentures are covered against breakage for one year. Where minor work such as a reline is needed in the patient’s own country, the clinic may contribute up to £30, subject to prior approval and an invoice.
2. Treatments not covered by this guarantee
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment carries no guarantee. Its outcome rests on the internal anatomy of the tooth and on how it heals, neither of which the clinic can control or predict with certainty.
Dental Posts
A post is placed in a tooth that is already weak and in need of reinforcement, usually before a core build-up or a crown goes over it. Because the tooth is compromised before any work begins, and because long-term success turns on biological factors, posts sit outside the guarantee.
Dental Treatment Instigated or Provided by Another Dentist or Clinic
Where treatment has been started elsewhere and Antalya Smile Designs is asked to finish or replace it, the clinic has not carried out the whole of the work and cannot answer for the part it did not do. Should a problem arise later, responsibility could not be separated cleanly between the two clinics. No guarantee is given on work of this kind.
Failure of Surgical Treatments
Bone grafting, sinus lifting and comparable regenerative procedures are performed to recognised clinical standards and with proven materials, but whether they succeed depends largely on how the individual patient heals. That is not something any clinic can guarantee, so these procedures fall outside the cover.
Temporary Treatments
Temporary crowns, bridges and veneers, temporary fillings, and the temporary teeth fitted during the healing period after implant surgery, including on All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases, are made to serve for a limited time only, until the final restorations are fitted. They are not built to the strength or lifespan of permanent work, so no guarantee is given on them, whether for breakage, chipping, wear, loosening or the need for recementation.
3. Circumstances in which this guarantee is invalidated
The guarantee is invalidated in any of the following circumstances.
- Oral hygiene is neglected.
- The patient does not have a check-up at least once every twelve months, taking in a scale and polish together with a panoramic X-ray. An invoice is needed as evidence.
- Instructions given by the clinic’s dentists or oral surgeons are not followed.
- Payment obligations are not met.
- Further work is carried out on the original treatment without the clinic’s prior authorisation. Scale and polish treatments are the exception.
- Partial dentures, full dentures and other removable restorations are not looked after as instructed.
- Gum tissue or underlying bone recedes or deteriorates.
- Nail biting is judged to have contributed to the problem.
- A scheduled appointment arranged by the clinic is missed. This voids the guarantee in its entirety.
- The patient takes part in contact sports, or in sporting and leisure activities that carry a risk of dental injury.
- Smoking has contributed to the problem.
- Any activity, substance or drug known to raise or lower blood pressure artificially has been used.
- Grillz, or jewellery fixed to the teeth, tongue or lips, are worn on either a temporary or a permanent basis.
- Recreational or prescribed medication, supplements, herbal preparations or comparable substances were being taken when treatment was carried out, and went undeclared.
- Damage results from an accident or from trauma, for example a dropped denture or an injury caused by a third party.
- The same or a similar problem keeps recurring and appears unrelated to the dentistry itself. The clinic may then advise the patient to consult a specialist or medical professional for further investigation, whether directly or indirectly related to dentistry, at the patient’s own cost. Declining that advice voids the guarantee automatically.
- A dental implant migrates to any degree.
- Bone grafting is rejected or fails.
- The patient has a general illness, or has had one, which has affected the chewing organ, the jawbone or the surrounding tissue. Diabetes, epilepsy, osteoporosis, heavy exposure to X-rays, mental disorders and chemotherapy all fall within this, and the list is not exhaustive.
- The patient is dissatisfied with a colour, shape or size that they selected themselves. Patients choose their preferred shade during the preparation period, and the clinic cannot be held responsible for a later change of mind.
- Grinding or bruxism is excessive.
- Pregnancy has contributed to the problem.
- Preparation for crown or bridgework occasionally traumatises a tooth, which then needs root canal treatment. Where nothing was visible on the patient’s final X-ray and nothing could reasonably have been predicted, the clinic carries no liability.
- A substantial gain or loss of weight occurs.
- A gum shield supplied by the clinic is not worn as advised.
- The patient was pregnant when treatment was carried out and did not disclose it.
- The patient had not turned 18 when treatment was carried out and gave an age that was not their own.
- A prescription is issued and the patient either does not obtain it, or obtains it and does not follow the instructions given. The clinic may then void any and all parts of the guarantee.
- Treatment is not completed within 12 months of the patient’s last signed consent form. This applies to implants, implant crowns and bridges following extraction, among other treatments.
- The terms of Section 4 or Section 5 are breached.
4. Patient conduct and fairness
Antalya Smile Designs treats every patient with courtesy and patience, and asks for the same in return. This section sets out the standard the clinic expects, and what follows if it is not met.
Conduct on clinic premises. Patients are asked to behave appropriately and respectfully at all times: on clinic premises, in clinic vehicles, and in every exchange with the clinic and its representatives, whether face to face, by telephone, by message or in writing. Abuse, threats, discrimination or aggression directed at clinic staff, at other patients or at clinic property will bring services to an immediate end.
Where that happens, the dental guarantee falls away in full. No refund or compensation is payable, and the patient remains liable for any sum outstanding on services already delivered. The clinic may also pursue the cost of any damage or loss caused.
Threats and coercion. Threatening to publish damaging material about the clinic or its team, whether on social media, on review platforms, in forums or anywhere else public, in order to secure a refund, a discount, free treatment or any other concession the patient is not entitled to under these terms, is treated as coercion. It makes no difference whether the threat is made openly or merely implied. The clinic may end services and treat the guarantee as void.
False or misleading public statements. Publishing claims about the clinic, its staff, its dentists or the treatment provided that the patient knows to be untrue or materially misleading, including any misrepresentation of clinical records, photographs or correspondence, also voids the guarantee. Where a matter of this kind is disputed, the clinic may hold back remedial work that would otherwise be covered until it is settled, and any remaining guarantee period is extended by however long that takes.
Honest feedback is always welcome. None of the above limits a patient’s right to complain, to report a matter to a competent authority, or to publish an honest and accurate account of their own experience. This section reaches only abuse, threats used as leverage, and statements the patient knows to be false. The clinic asks simply that concerns are brought to it first, so that it has a fair chance to put things right.
5. Recording and clinical privacy
Consultation rooms, treatment rooms and any other area where clinical procedures are carried out or clinical matters are discussed are private medical spaces. To protect the privacy and legal rights of patients and staff alike, audio and video recording of any kind is prohibited in these areas.
The legal position. Turkish law treats these areas as private spaces. Recording a private conversation, or recording people in a private space, without the explicit consent of everyone present is a criminal offence under Articles 133 and 134 of the Turkish Penal Code (Law No. 5237). This is the case whether or not the person making the recording is taking part in the conversation.
Signage and notice. Signs stating this prohibition are clearly displayed in the clinic. The prohibition applies whether or not a member of staff mentions it, and by signing this form the patient confirms that they have been made aware of it.
If a recording is made. Where a patient records, or attempts to record, in a clinical area without the explicit written consent of the clinic and of everyone present, the clinic will treat the material as unlawfully obtained. It will not accept that material as part of any complaint or dispute, and will object to its use before any authority. The matter may be referred to the Turkish legal authorities for investigation, and the patient’s dental guarantee becomes void automatically and in full.
Records and images. Nothing in this section limits a patient’s right to see and obtain copies of their own clinical records. Patients who need documentation, X-rays, scans or other records should speak to their coordinator, who will arrange them through the clinic’s authorised process.
6. Remedial work and transferability
Most treatments carried out by Antalya Smile Designs are covered by a guarantee. Where dentistry provided by the clinic proves defective and falls within these terms, the clinic will put the work right at no charge.
Remedial work takes place at the clinic in Antalya. The cost of travelling there, and of accommodation, is the patient’s own, unless an authorised representative of the clinic has agreed otherwise in writing.
The guarantee belongs to the patient named on this form alone. It cannot be passed to another patient, nor honoured by another clinic. Treatment costs incurred at a clinic unconnected to Antalya Smile Designs, whether remedial or otherwise, will not be reimbursed unless an authorised representative of the clinic agreed to them in writing beforehand. That agreement cannot be given after the event.
7. Contact and support
Any question about this guarantee, or any problem with treatment provided by the clinic, should be raised with the clinic’s support team. The main point of contact is [email protected].
